Summer is short here in the U.P., so it's especially nice when you can sit outdoors and relax. Adding a porch or deck to your existing home is the perfect way to do it. The composite decking that is available now is virtually maintenance free and will last quite a long time.
Traditional cedar is also a great way to go although it does require a bit more maintenance.
